These photos were all taken at the Hornell Raceway which was located on Ashbaugh Hill. The raceway opened in 1959 and ran through
the 1965 season. It was owned and operated by the Amidon family who provided the photos. Two additional people deserve mention
for these photos, Ron
Amidon and Larry Mosher.
The racing took place on Sunday night on the third of a mile dirt oval. In the picture
of the track facing seats, the
seats came from the Majestic theater. Eddie Anchor's car was sponsored by Devore's Furniture of
Hornell. Don Wood won many times at Hornell
Raceway.
