Oro Valley E-Flyers is a group of friends, ok...electric airplane junkies, who get together to fly radio control aircraft ...strictly
electric powered. We are a non-club and we meet and fly at several fields in Marana and Oro Valley, Arizona. Our new main
field is at Dove Mountain, Marana (field #1 map link above). We are also members of the Sonoran Desert Flyers (SDF) and fly
at the undeveloped Oro Valley town site off Naranja (field #2 map link above) We also fly at the Casas Baptist Church in Oro
Valley (field #3 map link above). .
The Price to Play. The performance of eflight has risen dramatically over the last
few years. And so has the cost. We are now to the point where we are stuffing $500 worth of electronics into a $50 hunk of foam. And
for that we are getting 100 to 200 watts per pound, and more, power figure. You don't need to be rich to enjoy this sport, but...
If
you are interested in joining us for a day of flying we welcome you. We have qualified instructors on hand ready to assist new
flyers and we can give lots of advice, completely free of charge.
FIELD #1 -- Dove Mountain field at Tangerine Road and Dove Mountain Blvd in Marana. Click for map. We usually fly here on Saturday mornings beginning about 9 a.m. AMA and club memberships required.
FIELD #2 -- Sonoran Desert Flyers field at the undeveloped Oro Valley Town site off Naranja between First Avenue
and La Canada. We usually fly here on Sunday mornings. AMA and club memberships required. Click for map.
FIELD #3 -- Casas Baptist Church Athletic field at Cross Road and Lambert. This is a grass field ideal for
belly floppers and planes without landing gear. We fly at this field on Saturday mornings only. Click
